Sit back, find a comfy chair, grab a cup of tea.......then feel free to enjoy the poetry on this 'front porch'.This poetry is written first and foremost TO BRING GOD GLORY!!It reflects thoughts on life, love and God.May you be refreshed, encouraged, challenged and comforted....and leave with a new appreciation and joy in the mighty God we serve! Symbols of Love
We choose a picture, some chocolate, a rose
Candle-light dinner, wine perhaps or new clothes
Tangible symbols to declare love so true
Gifts from the heart to say, ‘I love you’
He chose a crown made of thorns, not the rose
Some nails and a cross are the symbols He chose
Blood-stained timber on a dark hill-side
Crying, “Father, forgive them,” He loved as He died
All Right Reserved
Janet Martin
A jar of wine vinegar was there,
so they soaked a sponge in it,
put the sponge on a stalk of hyssop plant
and lifted it to Jesus' lips.
When He had received the drink Jesus said,
"It is finished". With that He bowed His head
and gave up His spirit. John 19:29-30
