Miracle...

You take these stammering words of mine
My humble broken cries
To work a miracle divine
Before my doubting eyes
When I am up against a wall
You open up a door
And in the wonder of it all
I trust a little more……

When I retreat to doubts and fears
Forgetting what You’ve done…..
…..Your faithfulness throughout the years
…….The gift wrought through Your Son
Lord, you don’t give up on me
Or turn away Your face
But gently, softly, patiently
My fears and doubts erase

You take these fumbling wretched hands
And use them to Your glory
I still would heed sin's vain demands
But for a wondrous story
A story that sets sinners free
To live in victory
The story of a blood-stained tree
And One who died for me

You take these stammering mumbling words
The offering of my love
And promise me, though undeserved
A mansion up above
And as another miracle
Unfolds upon the earth
You take this broken vessel, Lord
And fill it with Your worth

In My Father's house are many mansions;
If it were not so I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you;
and if I go to prepare a place for you
I will come again, and receive you unto Myself,
that where I am there you may be also!!!! John 14:2-3

Your Temple

Lord, how is the temple when You look at me?
Is it as clean as it ought to be?
Or do you see clutter strewn about?
A pile of garbage that should be thrown out
Dear Lord, as you look in upon me
What kind of temple do you see?

Is it a place in which You gladly dwell?
With every space tended very well
Are You welcome in every last nook
Where nothing is hidden, in case You should look
If I am Your temple, is it fit for a King?
A humble example of a pure offering

Lord, it’s such an honor that You should dwell
In every corner of this lowly shell
Teach me how to keep this temple well-swept
A tender example of a house well-kept
If I am Your temple upon this earth
Than I am filled with priceless worth

Servant

Lord on my tiny plot upon this earth
Help me to be the best that I can be
As I recognize my honest worth
That I am truly nothing without Thee….

Let me never then be filled with pride
In one gesture that these hands have wrought
But let me serve you from deep down inside
In every little word and deed and thought

Nothing at all to boast about have I
Without You I’m a lost and hopeless soul
So place your vision then within my eye
In You each broken sinner is made whole

Here upon my tiny plot on earth
Let me gladly my best service bring
As I recognize my humble worth
I’m the servant of a holy King

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit. Ps. 32:1-2

To One in Love

The blue-bells bloom a little bluer
To the one who is in love
And the cares of life are fewer
As the shadows from above
The melody of twilight
Or the cooing of the dove
Or the whisper of the midnight
Is more clear to one in love

The hour is far longer
And the pain is more intense
But the ties of love are stronger
Than the hunger and suspense
As I wait for your returning
Endless minutes trickle by
But it simply feeds the yearning
And the love-light in my eye

The wait is worth the wanting
And the end is worth the miles
I absorb the pleasant taunting
Of your easy laugh and smiles
As I look beyond the sorrow
To the moonlight from above
There is hope in each tomorrow
For the one who is in love

Blood, Sweat and Tears

Do you ever ask yourself, is it really worth your while
As you strain through the torment of another mile
Is there really a pay-off at the other end?
Or just a hill or another bend
Ah, yes someday it will be worthwhile
As we cross the finish-line of the last mile
It’s hard now, I know, but we’ll keep our eyes
Fixed on the eternal prize

Was it worthwhile, dear Jesus for You?
As You look down on this sin-cursed view
As You wept and prayed in agony
With sweat-drops as blood in Gethsemane
Was it worth it all? For I don’t understand
Your love imprinted on nail-scarred hands
Your gift, so free to this human race
So hopelessly lost without your grace

So, I ask again, is it worth our while?
The blood, sweat and tears of another mile
As I think of God’s great sacrifice
My greatest offering is a pitiful price
Blood, sweat and tears are given in return
For a love we can never begin to earn
But His love puts a purpose in every mile
Thank-you Jesus, You’ve made it worthwhile!!!!

So do you ever REALLY NOT feel like going on that walk, or run
Or doing your workout????? But after you do it you say
‘YES, that is so worth the effort!!
I feel GREAT!!!!’
Do you think that’s what we’ll say when this ‘race’ is over??/
YES!! That was SO worth the effort!!! I feel GREAT and
ALL BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID FOR ME!!!!’
Let’s ‘keep on keeping on’

Therefore…..let us run with patience the race that is set before us.Heb.12:1

At the Foot of the Cross (poem/song)

Nothing of value to bring you have I
My sin, my shame and my foolish pride
As I lift my gaze to the cloudless sky
I realize man has no place to hide
You know our coming and all of our going
You know the deepest intent of the heart
Lord, oh my Lord, you are all-knowing
Yet You still love me to my uttermost part

So take it away, Lord take it away
My humble offering of foolish dross
Show me Your way, Lord show me Your way
Lead me again to the foot of the cross

Here in my sorrow, you fill me with hope
Here in my nothingness You still find worth
There is no need in darkness to grope
Amazing Grace beckons to the whole earth
To each living soul Your mercy extends
Your love makes wanton sinners whole
While man excuses and pretends
Your grace calls out to every soul

Take it away, Lord take it away
My greatest feat without You is loss
Show me Your way, Lord show me Your way
Lead me again to the foot of the cross

There at Your feet ‘neath mercy’s atonement
There at Your feet ‘neath a crimson tide
There, let me touch You, if but for a moment
There….where I plunged a spear in Your side
Lord, you know all my coming and going
Yet You still love me in spite of it all
Redeeming love, endless mercy showing
You lift me up each time I fall

Take it away, Lord take away
Cleanse me Lord, from sin’s filth and dross
Show me Your way, Lord show me Your way
In mercy obtained at the foot of the cross
