Release......

Someday before our wanting eyes
He will rend these silent skies
The Rider with His host of light
Will end earth’s sad and weary plight
At last the object of our faith
Will become sight upon this earth

No pain or suffering anymore
Transported to another shore
No tear to ever dim the eye
No sad or disappointed sigh
They remain in sins dark sea
Where Death will weep eternally

This life is but a fleeting breath
In Him we will not suffer death
But in His perfect tender will
Every longing He’ll fulfill
In grand and heavenly courts above
Beneath the scepter of His love.

Touch the Hand

Touch the hand of the One who forms
The heart of the bud of the rose
Touch the hand that shapes the lilies
And cradles every storm that blows
Touch the hand that heals the wounded
Or washes dusty fields with summer rain
Touch the hand that holds the power
To make the broken-hearted whole again

Touch the hand that held the nails
That pierced the One who sets men free
Touch the hand that loves us still
Though we are vile as we can be
Touch the hand that washes clean
The deepest sin-stains, red as blood
Touch the hand that purifies us
Touch the hand, the hand of God

Oh, touch the hand that will not falter
When it seems no one can understand
When the world’s a cruel shoulder
Won’t you reach to touch the hand?
The hand that soothes the tempest
And brings life to dormant sod
Touch the hand that bears the love-scars
Touch the hand, the hand of God

These Things Shall Pass

These things shall pass, the toil and the hurt
Are like days of the grass, soon returned to the dirt
Tomorrow’s a mystery in a darkened glass
Today soon is history, these things shall pass

These things shall fade, the blue and the grey
The emerald and jade will all pass away
See the splendor of the lily and rose
They too must surrender and decompose

These things shall pass, life will be sweet again
After the storm, the grief and the pain
Don’t stop walking, oh you can do it
There’s One who is watching; He’ll walk you through it

Yes, these things shall pass, the lonesome road
The broken heart, the tears that flowed
Time will heal; God’s in control
Someday He’ll reveal, not the half but the whole

These things shall pass as all things do
But God’s word, never, nor His love for you
So keep the faith, for a day is as grass
Here today, gone tomorrow, these things shall pass

Reminder

Beyond this bleak horizon-line
Somewhere, I am told
Is a glorious land divine
Where streets are paved with gold
And in this land not made with hands
Where there is no night
He will wipe away our tears
In rapturous delight

Gone forever, all our care
He heals the broken-hearted
Gone the worry and despair
As loved ones are united
With tender trace He will replace
Each memory of grief
As we rest upon His breast
In Heaven’s sweet relief

With his grace, yes I can face
The sorrows of my day
The lonesome hour, the trampled flower
All soon shall pass away
He’ll fulfill His perfect will
For He holds everything
As He reminds me I’m his child
A daughter of the King

...in My Father's house are many mansions.
If it were not so I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you
and if I go to prepare a place for you
I will come again and receive you unto
Myself, that where I am there you may be also. John 14:2-3

Matters of the Heart

You can take a pill or potion
For most anything that ails
There’s an ointment or a lotion
When the pill or potion fails
But there’s a fortune waiting
For the one who can impart
A cure to heal the aching
In the matters of the heart

No band-aid here can cover
Its raw and bleeding gash
No pharmacist or doctor
Can prescribe a cure for cash
Nothing to heal the utter depth
Of pain these wounds impart
Hope in a bottle cannot soothe
The matters of the heart

No tea to drink, no smelling salts
No herb or bud or leaf
Can heal a torn and broken heart
Or soothe its hidden grief
No surgery, no therapy
Can touch that vital part
Where hopes are born and broken
In the matters of the heart

Ah, there is One who truly knows
The agony you’re feeling
And only His great touch bestows
A sweet and tender healing
Hope is found in God alone
He formed each hidden part
And hears each silent inner groan
In matters of the heart

Soft Words

Like the brush of gentle fingers
On my heart your soft word lingers
Like a hopeful breath of spring
You turn this beggar to a king
Melting ‘round a heart once broken
Precious sound, oh priceless token

Soft kiss on my tears of sorrow
I no longer fear the morrow
Whispering hope into my pain
Like the sunshine after rain
I can feel it, I can hear it
As you heal a broken spirit

Soft words draw the music in
Like the sweetest violin
I tilt my head to catch its strain
Drifting ‘cross my inner plain
Lifting me above life’s boulders
Arm of love around my shoulder

What a gift of love to find
Soft words drift across my mind
When I’m alone, about to fall
Its tender tones I then recall
For naught can leave a sad heart stirred
Like a soft and gentle word

Lord, Your words are always tender
To Your whisper I surrender
Soft and gentle, reassuring
Softest voice of hope enduring
You bring healing to each hurt
With Your soft and gentle word.

It's Never Goodbye

I want to hold you a little longer
Selfishly ask, 'Lord wait til I'm stronger'
He whispers to me as I start to cry
With all of my children it's never goodbye

Wherever you are I will draw you near
As a Father who gathers His children dear
Your tears will bring healing so go ahead, cry
But always remember it is never goodbye

My arms will reach out to wherever you are
In My arms there is no near or far
And hearts will unite in an invisible touch
As you reach out in prayer I will draw you close

So it's 'see you later' but it's never goodbye
I, your Creator, your tears soon will dry
Here in My arms I will draw you near
As you faithfully pray for each other here
