This I Know...

I do not know
How it is that each rose unfolds
In pure and flawless splendor
Or how an infinity of planets
Exists beyond our visage
A glorious mystery, uncharted
I do not know
How it is that you are far from me
Yet ache in every heartbeat
Or how waters flow unceasingly
Yet its source is not depleted
I do not know what brings the robin
To its nest in the same tree
Or how a world beneath the ocean
Can exist in untainted beauty
I do not know
How many days remain to tread this sod
Or who will be the first to go
But one thing I do know…
I know whom I have believed
And am persuaded that he is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day. (2 Tim. 1:12)
I know He is the One True God

Do You Know Him?

He is the Lover of my soul
In life and death He’s in control
His love and mercy has no end
He is an everlasting Friend
He is my strong-hold; He helps me stand
He is my Rock; He is my right hand
He is my Shield, my Fortress, Stay
More precious than gold, unfailing always
Do you know him? He who will bless
The seekers of His righteousness

He is my Shepherd; I am His sheep
He is my Comforter when I weep
He is the Vine; He is Salvation
The Beginning, the End, the God of Creation
From everlasting to everlasting
The Living Bread within my fasting
He is the Way, the Truth, the Life
He is Hope within my strife
He is a Father, kind and tender
Do you know Him?
My soul’s defender

He is my Deliverer; He is my King
He is my boasting; He is my Wing
He is my Refuge, my Strength, my Song
My help in trouble, my Corner-stone
He is Holy, He is Judge
And His decree will never budge
He is the Lion and the Lamb
Alpha, Omega, the great I AM
He is Thunder, He is a dove
Do you know this God of Love?

He is my Defense, He is my Light
He is Day within my night
He is my Healer; He is Grace
He is the Reaper we all will face
He is Humility, Glory and Power
He is undefeated in His darkest hour
Conqueror, Victor, He is Head
Of both the living and the dead
He is the bright and Morning Star
Do you know Him? This dear Savior

Do you know the One who died?
The One with pierc-ed hands and side
Do you know the One who bore
The whole world’s sins whilst He wore
Upon His brow a thorny crown
As crimson love and tears flowed down?
Do you know the One who cried
“It is finished” as He died
To set the captive sinner free
And give us life abundantly?

Do you know Him? This Holy One
Jesus Christ, God’s precious Son
Do you know this Friend of sinners
Who transforms losers into winners?
Do you know this God of love?
He’s down below, He’s up above
He holds the world within His hand
Do you know His love so grand?
Do you know Him in all you do?
I dearly hope so, for He knows you

Do You Love Me?

I hold the elements of nature
Within my mighty Hand
The howling gale, the breeze's whisper
Both heed My command
I paint the canvas of the heavens
In a glorious Master-piece
I give breath to each thing living
Tell Me, do you love Me?

I form each tender little bloom
Caress the midnight hour
With twinkling star and silver moon
Transforming every flower
In shades of grey and silver-green
The lawn a rippling sea
Beneath the tranquil misty sheen
Tell me, do you love Me?

I am in December’s blast
Or vibrant shades of May
In butter-fly or lightening flash
In every shade of grey
I am in the morning splendor
And I ride upon the storm
As man and nature must surrender
To the power of my arm

I am in the hour of laughter
I am in the vale of tears
I am in the ever-after
In your joy and in your fears
I am wherever you are going
And wherever you will be
I am God; I am Love; All-knowing

We are having our first blast of winter!!!
Snow, then freezing rain, then MORE snow!!!
I know,....we got off easy in November:):)
The kids are thrilled--first snow day! No School!

as I worked at the fall-cleaning(washing walls
an' stuff gives a person A LOT of 'thinkin' time)
He truly is the ALL IN ALL!!!!!!

On the Surface

On the surface we toss flowers
Rivers flow, calm and serene
We smile and say ‘how are you’
Rain falls down, the grass is green
On the surface we paint pictures
Keep the thorns and weeds at bay
On the surface, what a cover
For the truth that’s tucked away

On the surface we’re ‘nice people’
On the surface, thin disguise
Not a flicker or a ripple
In our painted mask of lies
On the surface, lazy rivers
But beneath its currents pull
On the surface drifting flowers
But there’s One who knows in full

On the surface, flawless image
On the surface, silence cries
But there’s One above all others
Who sees through each vain disguise
On the surface, calm and lucid
Leaves drift on its tempered flow
Yet One sees beneath the surface
Watching every under-tow
