Reflections

She hears the distant echo of his laughter ‘cross the meadow
His voice so low and mellow like a whisper in the shadows
And out across the snowy plains the phantom memories dance
She knows she would go back again if she had the chance

Upon the fields now glazed with snow she sees the ever-green
A carpet flushed with daisies and the glow of girl-hood dreams
And there within his gentle arms the tender bud of youth
Unravels slightly ‘neath the charms of laughter, love and truth

But fate would choose a different path and there the tender rose
Wept petals where they used to laugh in lover’s sweet repose
And as the winds of winter sweep the cold and barren plain
In secret moments still she weeps for what once could have been

The arbor in her garden blooms with flowers sweet and rare
But sometimes midst their sweet perfume and on the still night air
The melody of their love song drifts softly ‘cross her mind
As she re-visits now and then a chapter left behind

I'll Love You Anyway

In silence you ignore my plea
As I approach you turn from Me
It seems you simply cannot see
I’ll love you anyway

You coldly shun My tender voice
Making other loves your choice
Responding to this world’s loud noise
I’ll love you anyway

You may run but you can’t hide
For My voice is deep inside
Stronger than your fear or pride
I’ll love you anyway

I long to save you by my grace
I see the sorrow on your face
Why do you turn from My embrace?
I’ll love you anyway

Hate is strong but love is stronger
You may wait but I’ll wait longer
Only I can fill your hunger
I’ll love you anyway

Do not wait til life is past
To say that you believe at last
The shades of night are falling fast
I’ll love you anyway
Every day
Always
From
Your Father

This is no Game

( seems like Someone wouldn't let
me put down my pen this morning:)

There are winners and losers
There are beggars and choosers
And luck, if its façade we claim
There are cheaters and players
And great demon-slayers
But brother, this is no game

We can treasure and taste it
Or choose to waste it
Then give to some other the blame
We can make our moves wisely,
Or secretly, slyly
But brother, this is no game

We have the free choices
To heed to the voices
That point us to fortune or fame
But there’s just one winner
And it is the sinner
Who calls on Jesus’ name

There is no re-play
But there’s who-so-ever may
Call on his holy Name
Yes, there’s winning and losing
Rejecting and choosing
But brother, this life is no game

Great Commission Fulfilled

Lord sprinkle Your word across all the land
So hearts may be stirred as they hear Your command
May the wind and the waves each foot and each wing
Proclaim Jesus saves to each living thing
Then as the sound echoes from shore to shore
May each heedless soul no longer ignore
The shout from men’s voices, the wind and the waves
As each heart rejoices Jesus saves, Jesus saves

The man in the field thrusts his labors aside
The one at the wheel joins and matches his stride
As they jump to the roof-tops and shout cross the wave
Oh careless one stop, Jesus saves, Jesus saves
The beggar that lies in the filth on the street
Will slowly arise at the message so sweet
It calls to the weak as well as the brave
Come all ye who seek, Jesus saves, Jesus saves

They leap at the cry that is borne on the wind
Come all ye who sleep, all the deaf and the blind
Like lightning and thunder to the depths of the graves
Shout voices of wonder, Jesus saves, Jesus saves
And up from their slumber they join in the song
Like sands without number, triumphant the throng
Their shouts rise above the wind and the waves
Oh wonderful love, Jesus saves, Jesus saves

The Great Commission
…then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me,
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations,
Baptizing them in the name of the Father,
And of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
And teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you.
And surely I will be with you always,
To the very end of the age. Matt.28: 18-20

Choices

It’s not like a new pair of shoes that youre choosing
Or a fashion accessory
Its not like a sundae that you are refusing
Or…fine if it works for me
It's not a preference like music or silence
Or a moment that steals your breath
We all are choosing, even in our refusing
Eternal life or death

It's not like the weather and choosing sunshine
Over a rainy day
We cannot assume in our indecision
Eventually it will go away
And we can't decide on Judgment Morn
To decline our lifes reward
Hope that was born neath a crown of thorns
Cannot be ignored

It's not like the choices which seem to abound
Here on this troubled earth
It's an invitation wherein is found
New life and a new birth
Will we choose Jesus and His gift of love?
Our hope when life grows dim
For there is no grace that can replace
The life we find in Him

Yes, we are choosing even in our refusing
And in our dying breath
We'll hear the voice of our choice
Eternal life or death
