Here Am I.....

Maybe it’s just another sunrise
In a sense perhaps that’s what it is
Beautiful wakening of deep skies
But I believe it’s so much more than this
As the glory of a new day hails from high
I hear a mighty Voice say ‘here am I’

Here am I, the Father of compassion
Holding out my offering to you
As the Light rends the dark horizon
Piercing through the veil of somber hue
His power spreads across the morning sky
Flooding the universe, ‘Here am I’

Here am I, with perfect love unfailing
Here am I, the teacher of the sun
Here am I at the glorious unveiling
Of another day of grace for everyone
Look up, look up behold the glowing sky
And the Ruler of the morning, ‘here am I’

Here am I with mercy for a new day
Here am I, oh won’t you follow Me?
Here am I, the one and only true Way
Here am I, God of eternity
Won’t you trust the Painter of the sky?
Oh can’t You hear him saying, ‘here am I’?

Janet~

Lamentations 3-
22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”

Master-piece Morning....

He lifted the sun above the edge of the world
A handful of pink and amber and gold
Flinging its light across the sky
Across the snow-clad fir and pine
Transforming blue fields of an hour ago
With an iridescent, coral glow

Masterpiece morning, a breathless calm
Descends on a landscape robed in last night’s storm
Just as in life each storm will not stay
But in the glad morning will pass away
Masterpiece morning melts across the land
As I see a touch of the Master’s hand……

...weeping may endure for a night
but joy comes in the morning. Ps.30:5

Dawn.......

Like a glimmer of breathless expectation
A tremor above the horizon-line
A soundless softening of creation
As the deeper shades resign
To the whisper of the heavens
Though the night’s dark veil is drawn
Just behind this heavy curtain
Lies the splendor of the dawn

See the mellowing of purple
Hint of gold beyond the blue
As a Power; silent, subtle
Breathes a sigh of gentler hue
On this bed of darkened fallow
On a plain of sad despair
See His love, a golden halo
Gleaming on this groaning sphere

Like a symbol of His awesome wonder
Morning spills across the earth
Like a soundless golden thunder
It envelopes the universe
See the light of His great glory
See the wonder of the Son
Oh, before this day is history
May another soul be won

Like a glimmer of breathless expectation
A tremor in the heart of God
He extends another pleading invitation
To the cold, unbroken sod
He yearns to see a soundless softening
Before eternity’s dark veil is drawn
For just behind this heavy, silent curtain
Waits the glory of an endless Dawn

Hand of God

You steal across a slumbering charcoal land
With a warm translucent hand
You brush away the silent darkened hue
With a breath of softest baby blue
The waving fields of slate-toned grain
Become a sea of gold again
The tear that plagues the lonely soul
Finds hope within dawns coral glow
Ah love, ah, the hope of opportunity
Once more you reach your hand to me
As I, a stumbling slave of sod
Reach out to touch the hand of God

Morning Song of Love....

Oh the breeze is like a blanket rippling softly from the skies
Heavens laughter scented with bright blooms and butterflies
I think that I can hear the song of summer on its wing
The glorious melody of heaven’s love in everything
The emerald garden glitters with a diamond-jeweled glaze
The morning song-bird twitters and the eastern sky’s a-blaze
With dawning’s brilliant master-piece, for everyone to see
That His compassions never cease and His great love is free
Evening creatures disappear into the underbrush
I feel heaven drawing near within the morning hush
In arms of tender daylight mercy hovers like a dove
Wrapping me in soft delight and perfect, holy love

An Original

You melt like amber liquid
O’er this misty slumbering void
And stir with trembling heart-beat
As the darkness is destroyed
While fields that lie like charcoal stones
Beneath the silver cloud
Shimmer ‘neath your dewy tones
And don your glistening shroud

Your gentle breath dissolves the gloom
With soft golden caresses
And hope fills nature’s living-room
Beneath your glowing tresses
While many countless dawns have passed
Into times great abyss
Never has there ever been
Another such as this

I stand amazed as I behold
Your love and great compassion
Before my wondering eyes unfold
In perfect, heavenly fashion
A brand new day, a brand new dawn
Original creation
As these unwritten hours yawn
In breathless expectation

Lord, you never duplicate
The morning's glorious splendor
Help me then to not repeat
My failures, but surrender
Beneath the mighty Hand that paints
With matchless shade and tinting
Upon a canvas that awaits
My humble finger-printing

His Compassion

A riveting whisper of coral
Breathes on the horizon
Beneath a bank of pewter cloud
Which suddenly are blazing
In flames of bright magenta
As His breath softly expands
Into a shout of glory
Melting ‘cross a slumbering land

The silken robes of midnight
Garbed in purple-blue
Cannot resist the morning light
In ever-changing hue
As heaven’s hand of mercy
Tenderly testifies
A sign of His compassion
Brushed across the wakening skies

A very inadequate attempt at penning
The spectacular scene unfolding
Outside my window!!!....
and a VERY inadequate picture!!!
My camera couldn't pick up the
radiant and distinct bands of color!!!

Master Painter

Into His heavenly palette He dips an unseen brush
And as the earth lays sleeping in the misty morning hush
He gently stirs in dulcet tones the purple of the sky
A hint of lavender and bronze to tease the wakening eye
And as the deeper tones recede with loving passion stirred
He strokes the soft horizon-line in colors of His word
And hope takes on the burnished hue of orange and ruddy glow
Reflected in the morning dew like ruby-tinted snow
The drooping heart and heavy eyes are lifted from despair
As the Painter of the skies smiles upon him there
And bolder now the Painter, impassioned in His quest
To draw the sangfroid doubter from his cold and blinded jest
Splashes ‘cross the heavens fluorescent pink and gold
Rendering sinners speechless and earth’s greatest painters cold
As love in all its glory shines ‘Behold, for it is I’
And none can doubt His grand design, the Painter of the sky
Whilst I in my amazement simply whisper, ‘why Lord why
Am I the blessed recipient of this master-piece from high?’

Here it is again...that verse!!!
When I consider the heavens, the
work of Your fingers......
what is man that you are mindful of him? Ps.8

Victoria and I were the awe-struck 'audience'
this morning!!! Even Victoria,
our ceaseless chatter-box was ALMOST speechless!

The picture does not even begin to capture it!!!!

Before....

Before the fingers of the ruby dawn
Have stretched then faded to noon and beyond
Before they brush the western sky
Directing heavens lullaby
Before another day is past
As its charcoal shade is cast
And twilight fills the western sky
Will we have made a difference, you and I?

Before we lay again to rest
Will we have striven to do our best?
To touch another life with love
A foretaste of our life above
Will we have reached to hold the hand?
Of one who needed help to stand?
Before the evening ruby sigh
Will we have made a difference, you and I?

Will we have paused to kneel and pray?
Before the close of another day
Will we, in everything we do
Serve a higher calling true
Before the golden-ruby tones
Splash upon our streets and lawns
Will we have given our best try
To make a difference, you and I?

The sun-rise began with a narrow strand
Along the horizon-line,
It continued to grow til its ruby glow
Burst into brilliant sunshine!!!!

I'm drawn again to one of my favorite verses...
When I consider the heavens,
the work of Thy fingers.....
what is man that you are mindful of him? Ps. 8:3&4

Before The Dawn

Before the first rosy hint of light
Fingers the charcoal veil of night
Before its soundless silver sigh
Breathes upon the eastern sky
While heavy lies the darkened fold
Of night; and eyes of young and old
Lay slumbering in brief respite
Before the softest kiss of light
Weaves the faintest, glimmering thread
To give us hope that night is dead…
A lone bird knows that dawn is nigh
Though still unspoken in the sky
She breaks the spell of purple tones
And in the darkest hour of dawn
Breaks forth in clear triumphant song
Knowing night will soon be gone….

Take courage then, my fellow-friend
The night is dark, but it will end
Though, through its veil we cannot see
And morning waits, a distant dream
Behind this heavy cloak of night
Awaits a glorious robe of light
And as we hear that lone birds song
We know the night will not be long
Soon its sorrow and its fear
Will be a distant memory here
Though eyes may search the eastern sky
We know the Dawning soon is nigh
As we join the lone bird’s tune
Reassured that very soon
The Son of everlasting light
Will break in triumph through this night

There will be no more night.
They will not need the light of a lamp
Or the light of the sun,
For the Lord God will give them light.
And they will reign forever and ever. Rev.22:5

The Awakening

Beyond the distant fringes of this vast and sleeping nation
Beyond the rosy tinges of the dawn
Beyond the boundless limits of a wondrous creation
Beyond the line that human hand has drawn
There is a Hand, an unseen Hand
Which holds a slender chord
And nature heeds its each command
In awe of Heaven's Lord

Beyond the subtle moments when the night-time fades away
And shadows yield to daylight's golden brush
Beyond the crimson brilliance as the midnight turns to day
Melting darkness with its solemn hush
Beyond the blue there is a Hand
That stirs this sleeping nation
It moves with power o'er the land
His land and His creation

And here and there a wary soul responds to His awakening
And here and there a thankful heart is stirred
And here and there a faithful one will rise with firm ambition
Another day of grace to serve the Lord
Oh, one day soon this unseen Hand
Will move with power unshaken
And every soul across this land
On that great morn shall waken
