Letting Go....

I can't, Oh God, I simply can't
I whispered wearily
"I know," He said, "But child, I CAN
So why won't you let Me?"

Heaven's Broom

I see it all around me
Shattered fragments of a day
Its vile contamination
Makes me want to run away
The filth is over-whelming
And I think that I should hide
As I see the dirt and squalor
Of my wickedness and pride
I despise the look of envy
As it turns a heartless eye
And the sight of all my hatred
Truly makes me want to cry
There are words best left unspoken
But I see them on the street
With the taunting of my failures
And my castles of defeat
The remnants of my anger
And the echoes of my curse
Make me turn away in anguish
Why, it really is much worse
Than I had anticipated
And I fall upon my face
For the fruit of my endeavors
Are but offerings of disgrace
I lift my eyes to Heaven
As I begin to pray
He whispers, you’re forgiven
And He sweeps it all away

GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE

When our painted hills of purple don a robe of sullen grey
And the church-bells in the chapel have no chorus left to play
When the dew upon the roses turns into a shroud of frost
And the grief that life imposes makes us ponder love’s great cost
GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE

When the laughter and the sunshine in the spring-time of our life
Rewards us with an autumn ‘neath a cold and cruel knife
The colors of our rainbow fade to lurid shades of grey
Our respite is a shadow and a cherished memory
GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE

When the flicker of a candle is the symbol of our hope
And we cannot reach the handle of the door for which we grope
As the darkness seeps around us and life’s echo is our cry
It seems demons surround us in an evil lullaby
GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE

When the enemy reminds us that we’re weak and can’t defend
Someone greater stands behind us offering grace which has no end
For His strength shines in perfection when we can no longer stand
As we call in desperation for love’s kind unfailing Hand
GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE

Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Is the dawning of your day
Robed in gowns of charcoal gray?
Are mere words just sounds we say?
Keep your eyes on Jesus

Does it seems this heavy shroud
Keeps you from the laughing crowd?
There is hope above its cloud
Keep your eyes on Jesus

Keep your eyes on grace prevailing
In the storms of life assailing
There is perfect love unfailing
Keep your eyes on Jesus

Don't Turn Away

Don’t turn away, I’ll admit
The sky is a little gray
Today,
But tomorrow is
Another day
The sky might be
Another shade of gray
But it also might be
A perfect shade of blue
The kiss of the sun
On your down-cast view
So don’t turn away today

Don’t turn way, I’ll admit
There may be days
Like today
When you struggle a bit
But this too shall pass
So softly away
Tomorrow the grass
Will not be gray
But the perfect shade of green
And laughter will dance
Where your tears had been
So don’t turn away today

Don’t turn away, yes I know
There’s no easy street
Today,
Beneath your feet
The rock is gray
The climb is a little up-hill
The going tough
But if you trust My will
It will be enough
The gray sky will turn
To blue someday
So don’t turn away today

But He said to me,
My grace is sufficient for you…2 Cor 12:9

There is one word to perfectly describe
today; gray.....
Well, I think I'm going to go
for a long trek in a gray day:):)
