With open arms You welcome me
You do not bar the door
Though I have wandered foolishly
You love me evermore
And like a joyful Father
You beckon me to come
As in Your arms you gather
And bring the wanderer home
You see me from a distance
As you shed a fervent tear
I can offer no resistance
To the arms which draw me near
No angry condemnation
In your glad and tender gaze
Only love and warm affection
In a pure and holy blaze
You strip me of my filth and dirt
You wrap me in your love
You touch and heal the bitter hurt
With mercy from above
I’m speechless and unable
To understand such grace
Yet at Your banquet table
You reserve for me a place
