I See Hope

Here is my garden
Empty, unplanted
Tell me what do you see?
A plot of soil?
Just plain old dirt?
Last summer’s memory?

I see hope
In all its glory
An empty field of dreams
Gone is last year’s
Disappointments
Hope before me gleams

For just as Jesus
Lay concealed
For three days in the tomb
The seed of hope
Gloriously reveals
Triumph in full bloom

Here beneath
The dormant sod
The seed is silent, waiting
To be stirred
By hands of God
New life of His creating
