Oh, What a Night

The heavens declare His handiwork
And oh what a canvas fair
The artist is a Master
With priceless paintings rare
For minute by glorious minute
And hour by fleeting hour
This endless canvas portrays
The wonder of His power

In the west a crimson cape
Gently draws the sun
And bathes the sighing landscape
As another day is done
But in the east the tinted cloud
Crowns this solitude
And dons a flawless sapphire shroud
As daylight is subdued

But still the Master isn’t done
For as the crimson dies
He reaches from His splendid throne
And brushes ‘cross the skies
A wash of glistening silver-blue
As in the moon-lit hush
I pause to thank the Painter who
Never stops His brush

The heavens declare the handiwork of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.......Ps. 19:1-2
