If God withdrew from our hands
Our longings and our passions
And laid them out across the sands
In true and honest fashion
If He revealed without disguise
Our innermost desires
And spread them out across the skies
To test them with His fires
If every hour of yesterday
Were painted like a story
And set up high in bold display
Where would lie the glory?
If He then asked ‘who is our God’
Would we reply with pleasure?
‘You, God, you’re the only One’
Would it belie our treasure?
