Second Chances

You held it to me in the gentlest of ways

I blushed in embarrassment beneath your kind gaze

As You pulled back the wraps of pink and pale blue

And whispered, ‘My dear, I have something for you’

It was so beautiful, perfect, unmarred

I looked at my old one, so battered and scarred

But You did not remind me of my tangled mess

As you gazed at me in profound tenderness

‘Don’t look at the old one’, I felt His embrace

As He brushed the tears of regret from my face

‘I love You, I am with you, I’ll show you the way’

And He placed into my arms a brand new day

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Ps. 32:8

Janet ~ LOVE this one! Thank God for his mercies, and that they are new every morning! What a beautiful way of saying this... the present truly is a gift :)

Lovely picture ~ perfect visual to accompany your words ~ many blessings to you today!!

Yes, the present is called the present for good reason. I need to remind myself from time to time of the gift I am holding...not just because, but a gift from the hand of God.

Thank-you for dropping by at my other porch:)

A new day, a new way... I also read into this 'a new life' (salvation), our old 'self' has gone away. Frame this one :) and it deserved first place on ChristArt, not second. The older I get, the more I regret. Keep writing - focusing on helping/loving others. You are good.
