Name Above All Names

Do you ever hear a name that makes your heart skip a beat?
Or puts a smile upon your lips or music in your feet?
Does mentioning a certain name pierce to your inner-most?
Does it make you misty-eyed or longing for the past?
Oh, the mention of a name can bring us joy or agony
But there’s one Name which never disappoints, but sets us free

Cho. What do you feel when you hear His name-JESUS?
The Holy One, the Perfect Lamb-JESUS
Does it bring a joyful smile to your face?
As you hear the name of Amazing Grace-JESUS

Knowing someone gives a name some personality
When people hear my name I wonder what they think of me
But man-kind with its countless names will someday all depart
A name is just a name until connected to the heart
And then the sound of that dear name can thrill so very much
But there’s a timeless name which someday every heart will touch

Cho. It is a name above all other names-JESUS
Yesterday, today and forever the same-JESUS
Does His name bring fear or peace to your soul?
A name above all names as eternities roll-JESUS

It’s a name bringing freedom, love, joy, hope and peace
A name that reigns eternally with power that will not cease
Oh, when you hear this Name does it stir wonder in your heart?
As you cry Lord Jesus, Father, Savior, O, how great Thou art
It’s a Name above all names that loves mankind and frees us
Are you connected with this name above all names-IT’S JESUS

Cho. Repeat it, shout it, whisper it-JESUS
Sweeter and sweeter, our Savior is JESUS
Name above all other names evermore
Name above all other names we adore-JESUS

The Other Guy

Today I was the other guy
And I watched myself as I walked by,
Today I got a chance to see
What others saw as I watched me,
Today I got a sad surprise
As I stood with the other guys

I received the words today,
I thoughtlessly to others say,
And I was so shocked to find
How I was to others blind,
I watched the people my life touched
And wasn’t sure I liked me much

I got my own advice today,
Could not choose to walk away,
As I spoke my mind to me
And told me what I thought of me,
I blush a little now in shame
As I hear me speak my name

I used to wish that I could see
Perhaps, what others thought of me,
But now as with the crowd I stand
I don’t think I’m very grand
Now I wish that I would be
The way I thought that I’d see me

So now when I begin to fret
And others feelings I forget
I’ll stand out with the other guys
And watch me through the others eyes,
Perhaps then, I’ll kinder be
As I see what others see,
Lord, please make a kinder me
And help me see what others see

These Are Your Moments

Moments, sweet moments that measure a life,
Moments of joy and moments of strife,
Wherever I wander, wherever I climb,
May I never squander these moments in time

Whether you’re a new young mother
Holding a wee babe to your breast,
Whether you’re a sorrowing family
Laying dear old Dad to rest,
Whether you’re a sister or brother
One thing stays the same,
These are your moments, this is your life
And the only thing you own is your name

Whether you’re a farmer praying for yield
As you plant another crop of grain,
Whether you’re a soldier kneeling in a field
Ripe with a harvest of pain,
Whether you’re a king, a prince or a hobo
One thing stays the same,
These are your moments, this is your life
And the only thing you own is your name

Moments of love ‘round your kitchen table,
Moments of husband and wife,
Moments to labor as long as you’re able,
Moments, sweet moments, your life
Little bit o’ honey, a little bit o’ money,
Little bit o’ joy and strife,
Little bit o’ holdin’, a little bit o’ scoldin’,
Moments, sweet moments, your life

Whether you thrive in a room full of people
Or whether you struggle alone,
Whether your ego’s as high as a steeple
Or you’re mindful of all you own,
Whether you’re aged, youth or a child,
One thing stays the same,
These are your moments, this is your life

Politician or voter, patient or doctor,
Salesman or a customer,
Fireman or vandal, reporter of scandal,
Millionaire or poor gambler,
Student or teacher, sinner or preacher,

So when you bid farewell to your moments here
Who cares then about fortune or fame?
When you stand before your Maker
And your moments are all laid bare,
When He opens up His Book of Life,
Will He then find your name written there?
